2007 - 2008 Schedule

Meetings are held at the Barlow Community Center on the 1st and 3rd Mondays, September - May, at 7:30 PM unless otherwise indicated. Guests are welcome so bring a friend!


August 25-26, 2007 Art on the Green
Held every year on the scenic green in downtown Hudson, Ohio, Art on the Green attracts more than 150 artists and thousands of visitors.

Sept. 17 Ken Kirkland
Ken is a pastel artist you might know from the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center.

Oct. 1 Joseph Bohler
Joseph Bohler slideshow presentation, "Painting with Passion"

Oct. 15 Evolution Glassworks
Glassblowing Demo-On location field trip to the Peninsula Art Academy

Nov. 5 Critique
Critique at the Hudson Middle School at 77 North Oviatt St. We will meet in the Media Room, Rm 228-230, at 7:30PM.

Mar. 3 Robert Crombie
Rob will have a work in progress and discuss his primary aim, dilemas, frustrations and joys from painting. There will be some time spent talking about his travels to France and what it has meant to his creativity.

UPDATE: The March 3rd meeting will be at the Hudson High School. The meeting will begin at 7:30 PM in Room A211.

Park in the Stow Rd. lot and enter the doors by the auditorium. Go right and up the 1st stairwell. Turn right at the top of the stairs to Room A211.

Mar. 17 Dino Massaroni

Apr. 7 Harriet Elson
Harriet, one of HSA's own, will talk about making art fun and sketchbooking. Her specialty is watercolor.

Apr. 21 Marianne Hite
Marianne is a glass artist and will talk about her recent work. She is a popular instructor at the Peninsula Art Academy.

In Marianne's words:

"I love working with glass because I feel as though I'm painting with light as well as with color. Glass lends a certain quality to the light emitted through a piece that nothing else can duplicate."

May 5 Don Getz
Don will be doing a critique of member's work. Please bring 1-2 artworks for Don to review. Don's critiques are always popular and well attended, so he will review as many artworks as time permits.
