New HSA Membership Category Announced 10/31/23
The Hudson Society of Artists Announces Student Membership Program
October, 2023
The Board of Trustees of the Hudson Society of Artists is pleased to announce that it has established a new Student Membership category for all high school and college students in our area. This expands the society’s outreach to young artists, complementing its long-standing college scholarship award program.
The new Student Membership is open to high school and college students interested in two-dimensional and three-dimensional art (not performing arts) and requires no membership fee.
Our meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month from mid-September until the end of May at the Barlow Community Center (41 S. Oviatt St.).We have made a change to our meeting time, now 7-9 PM, to accommodate our younger members.
Our meetings are centered on demonstration performances by a wide variety of artists and are very much keyed to providing new insights about art styles and techniques. On occasion, we have critique sessions in which members may display their current work for professional comment and recommendations. Refreshments are served during our meetings.
We hold a holiday dinner on the first Monday in December and our annual general meeting and buffet, during which we announce our scholarship recipient, on the first Monday in June.
HSA holds three members-only shows throughout the year as well as our big event, Art on the Green, on the weekend before Labor Day.
We urge all students who are interested in art and who desire to learn new skills to join our society. To learn more about HSA visit our website: hudsonsocietyofartists.com, where you can download our membership form.
